Back by popular request, another of Shallal Dance Theatres one off ‘spontaneous response’ performances.
“ It contains a wonderful mixture of immediacy, intimacy, creativity, fun and awe,” says founder and creative director Jo Willis.
The dancers have never heard the album before, so it pushes their improvisation skills to the limit, while creating a unique immersive experience for the dancers and the audience.
The dance artists/performers of all ages and experience, have complete creative control.
Shallal Dance Theatre started in Newlyn and celebrates it’s forty years anniversary in 2027.
Since they started they have tried to show the equity and skills of each dancer in it's unique beauty and finally found the approach some years ago.
“We’ve been working towards this, how to hold the freedom of improvisation in the moment in performance, some years ago in our Always New project with local improvising musician George Clement Peer we found the core elements and have been refining it ever since.”
Along with making dance and performance accessible, we want the same for our audience, so entry is free/ donation.
Shallal Dance Theatre currently has four families in it, come along and experience a performance that puts access and equity at it’s heart.
The venue is accessible with drop off to the door but ( as it's on Newlyn hill) there is only one parking space beside it so parking is on nearby roads or car parks.
