The Cornish Doorways show was part of Shallal's Cornish Doorways project 2015-2018
The show was devised by Shallal Dance Theatre especially to be performed outside Godolphin House (National Trust). The house's grand portico was a gift for inspiring performance ideas, as were the ghost stories and colourful stories of the lives of people who had lived there in past centuries.
The show went out on a glorious day in May and audience numbers exceeded our expectations. The good weather meant that, as well as the people who had planned to attend, the performance caught the attention of passing National Trust visitors who stayed to watch.
The performance was accompanied by art installations by members of Shallal Dance Theatre in the grounds of Godolphin House, and a photography exhibition of work by Belinda Whiting showing the cast behind the scenes.
The show then toured to the Acorn Theatre, Penzance and Falmouth University AMATA Performance Centre.
