Ladders and Footprints was a show devised by Shallal Dance Theatre to be performed at Falmouth Library as part of Shallal's Cornish Doorways project 2015-2018
The show began outside, playing to delighted passing audiences and then went into the lobby making use of the grand staircase and ended with scenes in the library.
The show celebrated the life and legacy of Cornish philanthropist John Passmore Edwards. We chose to base the show on Falmouth Library as it was bequeath to Falmouth by Passmore Edwards and carries the inscription 'Passmore Edwards Free Library'.
The show was also toured to The Acorn Theatre Penzance, Falmouth University AMATA Performance Centre, libraries in North and East Cornwall, Holifield Big Tent Festival and the Passmore Edwards Institute at Blackwater.
